While you can't be serving a felony sentence, including probation, parole, or post-release supervision; you are eligible once a felony convention sentence is served. There is specific information for college student registration. 16 or 17 year olds may preregister to vote. Your voter application will be processed once you reach 18y. |

Registering During the Early Voting, In Person Period
You can register on the same day during the early, on-site voting period. This cannot be done on in-person election day.
Same-day registrants must fill out the voter registration application, attest to their eligibility, and provide proof of where they live.
Proof of residence includes any of the following documents that include the voter's current address.

- NC Driver's License
- Other photo ID issued by government agency and includes current name and address
- Copy of current utility bill, bank statement, paycheck with the voter's name and address
